Throughout Church history, there has been much debate about the role of women in the Church – with the primary focus, in many cases, on what women cannot do. In this message, which was originally given to the women of Kindred Community Church in Anaheim Hills, Pastor Philip De Courcy presents a review of the prominent role that women played in both the Old and New Testaments. In the Old Testament they were judges, queens and highly influential matriarchs. In the New Testament, some were among Christ’s best friends and most devoted disciples. In addition, many women are specifically called out as playing extremely impactful roles in the life of the early church. Given this history, Pastor Philip presents an encouraging and enlightening message about the role of women in the church today – with the primary focus being on the wide variety of roles women can and should play in today’s church, and the tremendous impact they have on the church body.
