Quest For The Best

Why is it, that while we have never had it so good in life, we feel so bad about life?  We know how to make a good living, but we don’t know how to make a good life.  Tragically, it seems today that people have everything to live with, but nothing to live for.  How do we explain this emptiness and correct this nagging sense of lostness?  In this series of sermons, Pastor Philip De Courcy will argue from the book of Ecclesiastes, that Augustine was right when he said that “our hearts are restless until they find rest in God.”  Just as the bird was made to fly in the sky and the fish was made to swim in the ocean, man was made to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.  Life under the sun must connect to life above the sun if it is to amount to anything.

The life of Solomon teaches us that life can be lived apart from God, but not successfully or satisfyingly.  Gaining the world can never substitute for knowing God.  Discover in this study that there is more to life than life itself.  The gift of life must be related to God, the giver of life if it is not to be a futile chasing of the wind.
